3 Albums to Listen to Right Now

I’ve been traveling through Paris these past couple weeks and yes, Paris is beautiful and the wine is good.  But, the music I’ve found along the way is even better.  And, yes this intro is corny but so much new music has been released recently and I’m met people with good taste in music and better recommendations.  That I could not wait to share them with you.  Here are three albums you should be listening to right now.

CIG

  1. Cigarettes After Sex by Cigarettes After Sex

Normally, I am not a fan of ambient pop music or songs that all sound alike.  But in this case Cigarettes After Sex is the acceptation.  This album is a detailed retailing of past sexual experiences, filled with stories that are too good not to tell.  planrarium

  2. Planetarium by Sufjan Stevens, Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly & James McAlister

When the single, “Mercury” was released from this album I was beyond excited.  I am a little biased to this particular album, I was a former intern at 4AD Records, but that being said “Mercury” is one of the most beautiful songs I have heard.  After hearing that my expectations where high for the album, and trust me when I say my expectations were exceeded. tyl

  3. That’s Your Lot by Blaenavo

This particular album is a little older than the other two mentioned but still just as amazing.  That’s Your Lot was recommended to me through a friend, and I could not thank her enough.  If you’re cool enough to already know this band, then you know why they matter and if not then I will recommend two songs that encompasses their awesomeness.

  1. “Let’s Pray”
  2. “Prague ’99”

Hope you enjoyed!
